Skate Like a Girl loves you! a recap of 2009 and what's to come in 2010

Thank you for an amazing year in 2009!

We are wrapping the year up with Wheels of Fortune II at Skatebarn on December 20, 2009 from 11 – 5pm.
This is the largest girls contest in the Pacific NW!
  Please do come and show your support for female skaters! 
The event is FREE to watch.  Or better yet, register to skate in this all ages, all abilities contest!

Thanks to families and businesses for donating money, we will have a historic $1000 purse for our contestants this year!

2009 Highlights include:

·      Our very 1st office thanks to the Seattle Center

·      Seed money from L'oreal Paris' Women of Worth program

·      Magical Mystery Tour with Chica Rider and Poseiden in Mexico City

·      KTUB teen summer skate camp

·      Bite This! Weekend of skateboarding fun in partnership with the Bite of Seattle and the Side Project

·      1st West Coast Tour in conjunction with the Winnipeg or Bust Tour

·      Submitting paperwork for our 501c3 status, and creating a board of directors

·      Where the Ladies At! NYC with Uptown Skate School and Girls Rider Organization

·      Ladies Nights at the Seattle Center and Skatebarn

·      Girls in Space at Innerspace

In addition to SLAG Seattle, both the Portland and San Francisco chapters had a busy year starting new summer camps, partnerships, putting out Hate On This (a girl only zine), and much more!

We want to give special thanks to you for a great year, along with additional businesses and organizations that helped made it a successful year:

We are looking forward to 2010, which is also the 10th Anniversary of the first clinic put together by co-founders Fleur Larsen and Holly Sheehan as part of the 1st Lady Fest in Olympia, WA.

Ladies Nights @ Bellevue Indoor 1st Sundays of the month 5-8pm first time $8, $3 following  visits
Girls in Space @ Innerspace 2nd Sundays of the month 10-12pm $15 clinics / $5 skate
Ladies Nights @ Skatebarn every Wednesday 6-9pm FREE
